Honey I Toasted the Sesame Latte For Turning Tables

The Honey I Toasted the Sesame latte is the perfect winter-time beverage! The warming sesame comforts and the bright citrus perks you right up.

Every one purchased benefits Turning Tables, an incredible local organization that provides both inexperienced and rising Black and Brown hospitality professionals with culturally responsive education, training, mentorship, and resources necessary to access real opportunity.

We at Congregation hosted a coffee education day for Turning Tables at our Tchoupitoulas roastery, and capped the day off with a specialty beverage recipe contest! The Honey I Toasted the Sesame latte beat out some stiff competition to be featured as our fundraising beverage of the month.

The latte is crafted with a single origin espresso—the Iglesias from Guatemala—that has a perfect wintertime flavor profile with notes of gingerbread, star anise, and stone fruit. A satsuma syrup, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon are added to this espresso, topped with milk, and garnished with a sesame rim and orange peel for a sensory delight.

“It’s all about equity! We need to invest more in the success of our communities and look for talent in places that we normally would not look to cultivate and mold it.“ -Touré Folkes, Program Director

So stop by during the month of December to experience this winning beverage, crafted by Angie McGuiness of Home Slice Pies, and do your part for a great cause!
